FISHERS OF MEN NOTES

 

While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him. 21 And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. Matthew 4

 

 “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. Matthew 28

 

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. Proverbs  11:30

 

Be wisein the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:5-6

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD. Psalm 37:23 KJV

 

In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9

2.TO WIN SOULS WE HAVE TO BE WISE IN OUR ______________________.

 

“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re hereto be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth... Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world.” Matthew 5:13-14 MSG

 

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

 

Make things better and brighter.

Understand their world.

Show them unconditional love. 

 

 “...Whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so that he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him.” 1 Corinthians 9:22 LB

 

  1. TO WIN SOULS WE HAVE TO BE WISE IN OUR ________________________.

 

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answerto everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 1 Peter 3:15-16

 

Don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.The Lord’s servants must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach effectively and be patient with difficult people. They should gently teach those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will believe the truth. 2 Timothy 2:23-25 NLT

 

“Zacchaeus, hurry down! I want to stay with you today.” 6 Zacchaeus hurried down and gladly welcomed Jesus. 7 Everyone who saw this started grumbling, “This man Zacchaeus is a sinner! And Jesus is going home to eat with him.”

8 Later that day Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “I will give half of my property to the poor. And I will now pay back four times as much[b] to everyone I have ever cheated.” 9 Jesus said to Zacchaeus, “Today you and your family have been saved, Luke 19

 

As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. 19 And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.  Mark 5
