ESSENTIAL WORSHIP NOTES

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6

“For our God is a consuming fire.” Heb 12:29

"Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD,

Jeremiah 23:29

Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem in the house of the LORD in front of the new courtyard 6 and said, “O LORD, God of our fathers, are You not the God who is in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand, and no one can stand against You.

7 Our God, did You not drive out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham Your friend?

8 They have lived in the land and have built in it a sanctuary for Your Name, saying,9 ‘If disaster comes upon us—whether sword or judgment, plague or famine—we will stand before this temple and before You, for Your Name is in this temple. We will cry out to You in our distress, and You will hear us and save us.’

 II Chronicles 6

If Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You,and return and confess Your name…then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, Vs 24-25

“When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name…then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Vs 26-27

“When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is; 29 whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone…then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, Vs 28-30

“Moreover, concerning a foreigner… has come from a far country for the sake of Your great name… and prays in this temple; then hear from heaven and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, Vs 32-33

“When Your people go out to battle against their enemies, wherever You send them, and when they pray to You …then hear from heaven their prayer …and maintain their cause. Vs 34-35

When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin)… and when they come to themselves …and repent, then hear from heaven …and forgive Your people who have sinned against You.

10 And now, here are the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, whom You did not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt; but Israel turned away from them and did not destroy them. 11 See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession that You gave us as an inheritance. 12 Our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this vast army that comes against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel…  15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.”  18 Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord.  19  Then some Levites…stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.  Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”

22 As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. II Chronicles 20

When the men of Judah came to the place…they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.  So, Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder…There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it.Vs 25  26 On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berakah, where they praised the Lord. This is why it is called the Valley of Berakah to this day.

The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 10:27

So, the king of Israel set out with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. After a roundabout march of seven days, the army had no more water for themselves or for the animals with them.

10 “What!” exclaimed the king of Israel. “Has the Lord called us three kings together only to deliver us into the hands of Moab?” 11 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” 14 Elisha said bring me a harpist.” While the harpist was playing, the hand of the Lord came on Elisha 16 and he said, “This is what the Lord says: I will fill this valley with pools of water. 17 For this is what the Lord says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink. 18 This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord; he will also deliver Moab into your hands.  20 The next morning, about the time for offering the sacrifice, there it was—water flowing from the direction of Edom! And the land was filled with water.

I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad.

3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!

4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34

The LORD is constantly watching everyone, and he gives strength to those who faithfully obey him. II Chron 16:9

Jeremiah 2:32 Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number.

Malachi 3:7 Return to me, and I will return to you," says the LORD Almighty.
