I AM THE VINE

Therefore, we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. Hebrews 2:1 ESV

When these people eat with you in your fellowship meals commemorating the Lord’s love, they are like dangerous reefs that canshipwreckyou. They are like shameless shepherds who care only for themselves. They are like clouds blowing over the land without giving any rain. They are like trees in autumn that are doubly dead, for they bear no fruit and have been pulled up by the roots. Jude 1:12 NLT

keeping your faith [leaning completely on God with absolute trust and confidence in His guidance] and having a good conscience; for some [people] have rejected [their moral compass] and have made a shipwreck of their faith. I Timothy 1:19 AMP

.

1I will sing for the one I love a song about his vineyard:My loved one had a vineyard on a fertile hillside. 2He dug it up and cleared it of stones and planted it with the choicest vines. He built a watchtower in it and cut out a winepress as well. Then he looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only bad fruit.Isa 5:1 NIV

8You transplanted a vine from Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.9You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land. 10The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. 11Its branches reached as far as the Sea, its shoots as far as the River.  12Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its grapes? Psalm 80 NIV

13Boars from the forest ravage it, and insects from the fields feed on it. 14Return to us, God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see! Watch over this vine, 15the root your right hand has planted, the son you have raised up for yourself. 16Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire; at your rebuke your people perish.17Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand, the son of man you have raised  up for yourself. Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. 19Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.Psalm 80 NIV

Matthew 21:33-46 NIV

John 15:1-17 ESV

  1. Abide

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 ESV

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8 NLT

  • Worship

I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. 3Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together! 4I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34 ESV

I will praise you, my God and King, and always honor your name. Psalm 145:1 CEV

  • Read the Word

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 NIV

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1 NIV

  • Obey the Word

"And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me." Genesis 22:18, NLT

a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” 28He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:27-28, NIV

Obey God's message! Don't fool yourselves by just listening to it. James 1:22 CEV

  • Prayer

16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. John 15:16 NIV

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NIV

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NLT

  1. Bear fruit.

Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. Vs 5

So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. Romans 7:4 NIV

9For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,Colossians 1:9 NIV

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-15

You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  John 15:3

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Psalm 119:9 NIV

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee…Psalm 119:105 NIV

And such were some no of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.1 Corinthians 6:11
