FAITHFULNESS HE TRUSTED GOD
· Joshua We Can Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.” 10But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the Lord appeared at the tent of meeting to all the Israelites. Numbers 14:6-10
· HE HAD A SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP Numbers 27:18 18So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, a and lay your hand on him.
· Deuteronomy 34:9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit b of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him.
· EXODUS 33:7 N11The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
NOTICE IN Joshua 5:1 Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they ahad crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites.
Joshua 2 The Fear of the Lord 8Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof 9and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. 10We have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea. for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed. b 11When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below. “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. Exodus 23:27 NKJV

I. REMEMBER THE COVENANT
Joshua 5:2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again.” 3So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the Israelites at Gibeath Haaraloth. b 4Now this is why he did so: All those who came out of Egypt—all the men of military age—died in the wilderness on the way after leaving Egypt. 5All the people that came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness during the journey from Egypt had not. For the Lord had sworn to them that they would not see the land he had solemnly promised their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey. 7So he raised up their sons in their place, and these were the ones Joshua circumcised. They were still uncircumcised because they had not been circumcised on the way. . 8And after the whole nation had been circumcised, they remained where they were in camp until they were healed.
1When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. 2I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.” Genesis 17:1 NLT
7“I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendantsb after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you. 8And NOTICE GOD SAID I will give the entire land of Canaan, where you now live as a foreigner, to you and your descendants. It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:7-8 NLT
10This is the covenant that you and your descendants must keep: Each male among you must be circumcised. 11You must cut off the flesh of your foreskin as a sign of the covenant between me and you. 12From generation to generation, every male child must be circumcised on the eighth day after his birth. This applies not only to members of your family but also to the servants born in your household and the foreign-born servants whom you have purchased. 13All must be circumcised. Your bodies will bear the mark of my everlasting covenant. Genesis 17:10-13
PSALM 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Jeremiah 17:5 “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. 7“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
Genesis 18:17 Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? 18Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. c 19For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord
II. Roll away the Reproach.
Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” So the place has been called Gilgal c to this day. 10On the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, while camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, the Israelites celebrated the Passover. 11The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land: unleavened bread and roasted grain. 12The manna stopped the day after dthey ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan.
ROMANS 8:1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:a The old has gone, the new is here!
III. Recognize the Commander
Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” 14“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord ehave for his servant?” 15The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.
· Remember the covenant
· Roll away the reproach
· Recognize the Commander
