I. The Power of Prayer
II Kings 6:17-18 ESV Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18And when the Syrians came down against him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, “Please strike this people with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness in accordance with the prayer of Elisha.
James 5:16-18 NKJ The effective, [k]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

II. God is with you even when we can’t see Him!

Psalm 34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted

When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
It may not seem like it in what you’re going through right now but His promise is that he will be with us.
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Numbers 22:31-32 Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown. 32The angel of the Lord asked him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me.

II Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
II Corinthians 4:18 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Hebrews 11:1 NIV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Vs 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Vs 7By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.
Romans 10:17 ESV So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Vs 8By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10For he was looking (seeing) forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
Vs 13 13All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.
Vs 14 14People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own.
Vs 2323By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.
Vs 26 24By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.
Vs 27 27By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
III. LOVE YOUR ENEMIES
II Kings 6:.21As soon as the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, “My father, shall I strike them down? Shall I strike them down?” 22He answered, “You shall not strike them down. Would you strike down those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.” 23So he prepared for them a great feast, and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. II Kings 6:
Romans 12:20-21 “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” e21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Matthew 5:23 43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor i and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be children of your Father in heaven.
Luke 14:12-14 He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothersb or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. 13But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
Matthew 5:16 let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
