LAMB OF GOD NOTES

Genesis 22:1-18 NIV

PSALM 103:1Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits3who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, 4who redeems your life from the pit,who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, 5who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Proverbs 30:4 NIV Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind?

Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know!

I. My sins are forgiven.

II Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin b for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

II. I’ve been justified.

Romans 5:1 NIV 1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we a have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.

III. I’ve been sanctified

So, Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.

·       Positionally sanctified perfected forever

·       Practically being sanctified this is ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in us.

IV. I’ve been redeemed.

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood,

Isaiah 44:22 NIV 22 I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”

I Peter 1:18 NIV  18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

V. I’ve been reconciled to God.

II Corinthians 5:19 God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sin b for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

VI. I receive the Holy Spirit

John 14:15 NKJV 15“If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, (NIV Advocate KJV Comforter) that He may abide with you forever—  17the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you  and will be in you.

John 20:19 NIV 19That Sunday eveningb the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. 20As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! 21Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” 22Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:11 11“I baptize you with b water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with c the Holy Spirit and fire.

Acts 1:4 ESV He ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized withb the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Matthew 24:14 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

I Corinthians 12: Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues d ? Do all interpret? 31Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

I Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues a of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, b but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Luke 11:13 NIV If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
